This template is used to suppress an automated "Questionable information" message that the wife was unusually old at the time of her marriage. It suppresses display of the message both on the Family page and on the Data Quality Issues list.

It also is a quick confirmation for subsequent readers that someone has noted the wife's age and confirmed that:

  • the right person was selected as wife in this marriage
  • her birth year is accurate
  • the marriage year is accurate

How to enter

The easiest way to add this template is from the Data Quality Issues list. (See Help:Monitoring Data Quality: Filtering the list for how to display and filter this list.) Selecting the Verified button will prompt you for comments. Enter your comments and select OK, and the template, with your user id and comments, will be added to the Family talk page.

Alternately, you can add the template manually, by entering {{UnusuallyOldWife|date|username|comments}}, where

  • date = today's date (d Mmm yyyy)
  • username = your username (preferably formatted as a link to your user page - e.g., [[User:MyUserName|MyUserName]])
  • comments = why you believe the information is correct, preferably referring to sources on the Family and/or Person pages

Example

Entering

{{UnusuallyOldWife|10 May 2023|[[User:Someone|Someone]]|Her obituary gives the marriage date.}}

displays

Wife married at an unusually old age verified 10 May 2023 by Someone. Comments left by Someone: Her obituary gives the marriage date.

How to use

Once you have verified that the Family and/or Person pages cite sources that confirm the relationships and dates:

  • Select the Verified button on the Data Quality Issues page. OR
  • Add the template to the Family talk page (preferred location). There is no need for a heading to precede the template. OR
  • Add the template to the Family page, anywhere where free-form text is allowed (e.g., in a source citation, a note, or the narrative; but not in a date or place field)

Note: Don't place this template on a Person or Person talk page, as it won't suppress display of the message unless it is on the Family or Family talk page.
